“GOD IS COUNTING ON YOU (3)”
SCRIPTURE READING: Daniel 3:14-30
EXPOSITION:
People have always said that “majority carries the vote”. This old age adage has virtually caused the rise and fall of many. Even though the majority decision sometimes is right, other times they are wrong and their decisions are against God. In today’s reading, the majority of the people bowed down in worship to the image of the King. Many of the Jews among the majority who did the bowing down might have done so not from their hearts but out of fear of being put in the fiery furnace. Many of us today are like those other Jews who compromised their faith.
KEY VERSE:
“Therefore, I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this”. - Daniel 3: 29
LESSON/ LIFE APPLICATION:
In our case the fire may be the fear of being ridiculed, losing that job, being withdrawn from school, losing that boyfriend (girlfriend), etc. We often deceive ourselves saying that “God will understand,” “He will even forgive me”. On the contrary beloved, God is counting on us, to be faithful and loyal to him and not to be lukewarm people. Let’s not give Him excuses. Our faithfulness can cause God to intervene in our situation. Remember you are God’s ambassador. God is counting on you – so dare to make a difference.
PRAYER:
Father, help me put the cross before me and the world behind me.
